Upcoming courses:

1. Microcredential: Rural sexual assault care for physicians and nurses (full title TBA)

• 10-12 hour course builds on the EESAS content- if already took EESAS, it provides an additional 5-6 hours of content. It is designed specifically for nurses and physicians providing care in rural areas without sexual assault nurse examiners. Includes trauma informed interviewing, simulations, videos, expanded injury photos, examination techniques, treatment discussions, and medicolegal reporting considerations.

2. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Course

• 48 hour theory course, developed in alignment with the IAFN education guidelines for content and instruction for sexual assault nurse examiners of adolescents and adults (SANE-A). Suited for registered nurses with at least 2 years clinical experience.  Physicians may also register. Eligible for assessment by IAFN as the theory requirement to write the SANE-A certification examinations. This course was previously offered through Mount Royal University but will now be offered through Northwest Polytechnic. Registration link:
